Coralia Osorio Roa, Ph.D.

Dr. Osorio is Chemist of Universidad Nacional de Colombia (1993), and obtained her M. Sc and Dr. Sc. in Chemistry at the same University in 1995 and 2001, respectively. She was research fellow in natural product chemistry at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan (1998) and visiting scientist in biochemistry lab at Universidad de La República, Montevideo, Uruguay (2000), during her doctorate. After her doctorate, she did a stay at Technical University of Braunschweig, Braunschweig, Germany (2002), and has been visiting researcher at Department of Food Science & Technology, Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, USA (2005) and Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany (2018). Dr. Osorio started her academic career at Department of Chemistry of Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia as Associated Instructor (1997); continued as Assistant Professor (1998), Associated Professor (2006), and currently serves as Professor since 2014. She is Deputy Editor of ACS Food Science & Technology, and has been a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry since 2016.
Grissel Trujillo de Santiago, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey
Grissel Trujillo de Santiago is a Professor at the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey. She is CSO and the scientific founder of FORMA Foods. She was trained as a Chemistry & Pharmacy Biologist at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (summa cum laude); she obtained her MSc degree in Biotechnology (summa cum laude), and her Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey. Dr. Trujillo de Santiago conducted research in Material Sciences at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (Naples, Italy) during her Ph.D. program. She was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Dr. Khademhosseini’s Lab in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Division (2014-2016) and the Microsystems Technology Laboratories at MIT. Dr. Trujillo is a member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico (level 2). She has published more than 70 papers, has been granted a Mexican patent, and has 6 more patent-pending technologies, including 3D chaotic printing. Her work has been cited more than 4700 times, and she has an H-index of 25. She has been recipient of several awards, including the “Professional Development” award by the ISBF, the For Women in Science Fellowship from the L’Oréal-UNESCO-AMC-CONACyT foundation, “Distinguished Citizen” by her hometown, Matamoros Coahuila, the Romulo Garza award for research that leads to entrepreneurship and is member of the “Distinguished Circle of Faculty Members” of her institution. Trujillo is an Associate Editor at ACS Materials Letters and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for the United Nations University (Latin America and the Caribbean program). Her main area of interest and expertise is bioprinting, biofabrication, and materials engineering for Tissue Engineering applications. Dr. Trujillo de Santiago research is currently focused on the development of novel platform technologies based on chaos to produce multilayered complex 3D micro-structured living tissues.
Rafael Vásquez, Ph.D.
Professor of Chemistry, Florida State University, Panama
Dr. Vasquez is the first Panamanian recipient of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan’s scholarship for conducting research and doctoral studies in Japan. He did his graduate studies at the University of Hiroshima earning the doctor of engineering degree in Industrial Chemistry focused on environmental and physiological applications of electrochemistry. He holds a bachelor degree in Chemical Physics from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain.
Regiane A. Bracchi
Manager – Latin America, ACS Publications
With a master’s degree in information science and extensive experience as a teaching professor focusing on the production, dissemination, use and application of scientific and technological information, Regiane A. Bracchi’s main role as the ACS Publications Latin America Manager is to support the scientific community in the region. This work centers on the development and implementation projects and partnerships associated to the access, use, and application of all ACS resources and solutions, as well as the promotion of opportunities and programs for the benefit of science in Latin America.
Juliana Garcia
Customer Success Specialist
ACS Publications Latin America
Juliana is the current Customer Success Specialist for ACS Publications Latin America, a division of the American Chemical Society. She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, and has obtained both her Master’s and Doctorate in Food Science and Technology from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Juliana has served as a visiting scholar at the University of Messina in Italy, The Ohio State University in the USA, and the University of Seville in Spain. She has more than 10 publications in the area of sensory analysis and chemical study of food. Juliana has also been awarded the Fulbright scholarship and has participated in the ACS Summer School on Green Chemistry & Sustainable Energy 2023.
Lana Nitti
Program Specialist, International Activities
Lana M. Nitti is a chemist by training interested in the intersections between science and society. She possesses an analytical and environmental chemical ideology focusing on inorganic and soil chemistry. Lana previously researched the pathways and solutions to childhood lead exposure in Utica, the city with the highest rate of childhood lead poisoning in New York State. Lana received her Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Utica University in 2018 with an honors distinction and has been an active ACS Member since 2015. She currently works for the ACS in the Office of Global Engagement and resides in Washington, DC. Lana is an activist, advocate, citizen scientist, and researcher engaged in the struggle for environmental justice.
Carolina Lizarazo Castillo
Academic Administration Coordinator
Carolina is a chemist from Universidad del Valle with a Master in Education from Universidad de los Andes. She has a deep interest in the dissemination of science in children; this work was recognized by the ACS with the “Salutes to Excellence Award” in 2013 for performing one of the most extensive Festival de Química in the world. She has shared her experience in the field of extension, social responsibility and dissemination of science at international and national scientific events. Currently she is the Academic Coordinator of the Chemistry Department of the Universidad de los Andes, an institution in which she has promoted and led activities aimed to spreading science among children. She is a founding member of the ACS-Colombian chapter and Advisor of the student chapter of ACS-Uniandes.
Anuar Jiménez Manzur
Customer Success Manager
Anuar works as Customer Success Manager in México and Central America region for CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and has recently obtained his Master´s degree in Sales Management and Commercial Leadership from the University of Barcelona. He is passionate about bridging technology, healthcare, and science to people, as he seeks to always improve others lives.
Romel Steven Guañuna Sanguña
I am a chemistry undergraduate student at Yachay Tech University, Ecuador. My academic interests lie in organic synthesis, computational chemistry, and organometallic chemistry. I have been involved in research projects such as the synthesis of pi-conjugated materials and the exploration of molecular vibrations through computational methods. As the current President of the ACS International Student Chapter at Yachay Tech, I have led numerous initiatives aimed at promoting chemistry education and professional development among students. Additionally, I am a founding member of the MEDCHEM Research Group, where we collaborate on innovative projects in medicinal chemistry and related fields. My leadership roles also include organizing events that foster collaboration between academia and the industrial sector to drive innovation and sustainable development.
