About
ACS on Campus, the American Chemical Society’s premier outreach program, will be hosting a virtual event geared towards our audience in Taiwan. This event will be in collaboration with Chemistry Promotion Center, CPC, local student chapters and divisions of ACS.
At this 2-hour virtual event, you’ll hear from ACS Editors on their tips for publishing, preparing abstracts and peer review process.
All attendees will receive a participation certificate after the event.

Prof. J. Justin Gooding

Scientia Professor of Chemistry at the University of New South Wales, Sydney
Scientia Professor Justin Gooding graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) from Melbourne University before spending two years working for ICI Research on explosives. He then obtained a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford and received post-doctoral training at the Institute of Biotechnology at Cambridge University. He returned to Australia in 1997 as a Vice-Chancellor’s Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales. He was promoted to full professor in 2006 and Scientia Professor in 2011. He is currently a founding co-Director of the Australian Centre for NanoMedicine, Node Leader for The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence in Convergent Bio-Nano Science and Technology and Deputy Head of the School of Chemistry. Before being appointed as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of ACS Sensors, he served on the editorial board of the Analyst, The Australian Journal of Chemistry and several other research journals. He leads an interdisciplinary research group of 40 people with students and post-doctoral fellows gaining expertise in areas as diverse as surface chemistry, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, optical physics, advanced microscopy, surface characterisation, cell biology and nanofabrication.
Yanli Zhao, Ph.D.

Professor , Nanyang Technological University
Dr. Yanli Zhao currently holds the Lee Soo Ying Professorship in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He serves as the Associate Chair for Research and Graduate Education in the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU. He is also a Principal Scientist (Adjunct Appointment) at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. Prof. Zhao’s group conducts innovative research in an interdisciplinary area of chemistry, functional materials and biomedical engineering with an emphasis on the design and synthesis of novel integrated systems for targeted bioimaging and therapy as well as for green energy and sustainable catalysis. He has so far authored over 500 scientific papers with an H-index of 104. Prof. Zhao has been honored with several national and international awards and recognitions, such as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2022, Lee Soo Ying Professorship in 2021, Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics in 2018-2022, Singapore National Research Foundation Investigatorship in 2018, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces Young Investigator Award in 2017, Asian and Oceanian Photochemistry Association Prize for Young Scientists in 2016, TR35@Singapore Award in 2012, and Singapore National Research Foundation Fellowship in 2010. He serves as the Executive Editor of ACS Applied Nano Materials.
Ophelia Han, Ph.D.

Dr. Meijiao (Ophelia) Han graduated from Beijing Normal University and currently is the Senior Manager of Editorial Services in ACS Publications Division. Before joining ACS, she worked for several world leading publishers. In her ten years of publishing experience, she served as chief editorial director, publishing support manger, and journal development manager, with in-depth knowledge of publishing industry.
