Dr. Laura L. McConnell is an environmental and agricultural chemist whose career spans USDA‑ARS, academia, and industry, with internationally recognized contributions to pollutant fate, exposure science, and regulatory innovation. She currently serves as University and Scientific Society Engagement Lead at Bayer Crop Science, where she aligns enterprise research with academic and society priorities to advance responsible innovation. Her research has focused on understanding air–water–soil contaminant transport and informed environmental protection and risk‑assessment practices worldwide. A leader in scientific community building, Dr. McConnell serves as Deputy Editor of ACS Agricultural Science & Technology and has held leadership roles across ACS, IUPAC, and multiple national and international advisory panels, helping guide research agendas, symposia, and global collaboration in chemistry. She is co-chair of the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast, an annual event with the goal of closing the gender gap in science. Her honors include the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, ACS Fellow, and IUPAC Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

Adam M. Boyd is the Director of K–12 Education, Engagement, and Outreach at the American Chemical Society. He has more than 20 years of experience working in chemistry education. Adam holds a BA in Chemistry and English from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Dr. Annabelle Lolinco is an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Policy, where she blends her quantitative research and policy analysis skills to oversee projects such as using artificial intelligence and data science to improve permitting timelines and provide succinct information on various energy policy areas for the Secretary’s Office.   Annabelle received her PhD in Chemistry from Iowa State University, where she examined how digital technologies can influence student learning. One of Annabelle’s major projects was examining student chat patterns about chemistry in a sustainability context using curated chatbots. After she graduated, Annabelle worked in the United States’ legislative branch for Congresswoman Doris Matsui of California’s 7th District, focusing on telecommunications and technology issues as one of the American Chemical Society (ACS)’s Public Policy Fellows (which is also part of the AAAS STPF program).   She has been an active ACS volunteer and leader for over 10 years, starting from her time as an ACS Student Chapter leader. Currently, she serves on the ACS Younger Chemists Committee, building relationships with international sister societies and interfacing with other ACS entities. Annabelle is also managing the communications for the ACS Division of Professional Relations.
