Associate Prof. Dr. Hooi Ling Lee

Dr. Hooi Ling Lee is an Associate Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia’s School of Chemical Sciences. With a Ph.D. in Surface Science from Dublin City University, her research focuses on nanomaterials and nanotechnology. She has received numerous grants and has published extensively in ISI-indexed journals. Dr. Lee was a recipient of the 2021-2022 US Fulbright-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Programme and the 2018 Endeavour Research Fellowship. She is a founding member and former Chair of the ACS Malaysia Chapter, an Advisor for the USM ACS Student Chapter, a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, and a Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Siwaporn Meejoo Smith is Professor of Materials Technology at Mahidol University and Acting Deputy Director at the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC). Recognized as a 2024 Mahidol University Top 1% Researcher, she is also a DPST Hall of Fame member. She has received prestigious awards including the 2023 Thailand Toray Science Foundation Grant, the 2017 Endeavour Executive Fellowship, and the 2015 L’Oréal Thailand For Women in Science Fellowship. As the new Chair of the ACS Thailand Chapter, she is committed to promoting academic excellence, fostering collaboration, and inspiring future chemical science researchers.

Prof. Dr. Vannajan Sanghiran Lee

Dr. Lee’s contributions to molecular modeling and quantum science earned her the 2023 UNESCO Woman of Influence for Science and Technology award at the 1st International Congress for the Women of Influence (ICFWI) in Tehran, Iran. As the Head of the UM Centre of Excellence for Quantum Information Science and Technology (UMQIST), she plays a pivotal role in advancing quantum research and education. A recipient of the prestigious DPST scholarship from Thailand, she has dedicated her career to pushing the boundaries of computational science, from biomolecular simulations to quantum-driven innovations. Beyond her research, Dr. Lee is committed to nurturing the next generation of scientists. She serves as an advisor to the American Chemical Society (ACS) University of Malaya International Student Chapter, guiding students in molecular modeling and quantum science. She also supports innovation through MolDesign, a student-founded enterprise fostering molecular creators and innovators. Additionally, as a co-founder of Qubios, an initiative under the Universiti Malaya Deep Technology Start-up Program, she is pioneering the integration of quantum computing and data science to revolutionize healthcare and sustainable technologies.
