About
Join ACS on Campus and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) for an interactive on campus event. You’ll spend a half day hearing from ACS Editors on their tips for scholarly publishing, how to leverage Scifinder, and the latest ACS Resources you can use to grow your career.
The event is FREE and open to all students and researchers studying the sciences, not just chemistry! All attendees will receive a personalized participation certificate after the event.

Featured Speakers
Tim Liedl
Senior Editor, The Journal of Physical Chemistry A
Professor Experimental Physics, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität
Tim Liedl is Professor for experimental physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität since 2009. He received his diploma in physics in 2004 in the group of Wolfgang J. Parak at Ludwig-Maximlians-University Munich (LMU) where he worked on the development of hydrophilic coatings for fluorescent semiconductor nanoparticles. In 2007 he obtained his Ph.D. in the group of Friedrich C. Simmel studying DNA-based nanodevices and switches which are driven by chemical oscillations. From spring 2007 till summer 2009 he visited William M. Shih’s laboratory at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / Harvard Medical School where they pioneered three-dimensional DNA-origami structures. The research of Tim Liedl is multi-disciplinary and exploratory positioned at the interface between nanoscience, plasmonics and biophysics. Its current focus lies on the application of DNA-based nanostructures in biology and on self-assembled plasmonic and photonic materials.
Tetiana Khristova
Sr. Customer Success Manager
Eastern Europe & South Caucasus region
Tetiana holds a PhD in chemistry from University of Strasbourg, France. After her graduation she worked as a junior research scientist in Laboratory of molecular structure and chemoinformatics of A.V. Bogatsky Physical-Chemical Institute, Ukraine. In 2015 Tetiana has joined Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of American Chemical Society, as a Customer Success Manager responsible for Eastern Europe and South Caucasus region.
Esra Capanoglu
Associate Editor, ACS Omega
Istanbul Technical University, Food Engineering Department, Turkey
Esra Capanoglu is a Professor at the Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Food Engineering Department in Turkey. Prof. Capanoglu obtained her Ph.D. in 2008 at ITU and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at RWTH Aachen University in Germany for two years. During her Ph.D., she worked in the laboratories of Plant Research International in the Netherlands for six months and at the IPK Leibniz Institute, Gatersleben, Germany, for another six months with a DAAD scholarship. Prof. Capanoglu’s research focuses on antioxidants and phenolic compounds in foods and their in vitro bioaccessibility and bioavailability. She also studies the effects of processing, encapsulation, and the matrix on these bioactives. Prof. Capanoglu has published two books, 30 chapters, and more than 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has taken part in several international (EU 6th Frame, EU 7th Frame, COST, Joint Research Projects, etc.) and national projects (TUBITAK, TAGEM, ISTKA, etc.). She currently serves as an Associate Editor at ACS Omega and an Editorial Advisory Board Member for the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the Journal of Berry Research, and the Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry, among others. Prof. Capanoglu was featured as a Clarivate “Highly Cited Researcher” in 2019 and 2022. She was also highlighted among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in the main “Food Science” subfield discipline according to the list created by Stanford University for the last three years (2020-2022). In July 2022, Prof. Capanoglu received the Georg Forster Prize from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
