Juliana Garcia, Ph.D.
Publishing, Scientific Information, and Outreach Specialist, ACS Publications
Juliana is the Publishing, Scientific Information, and Outreach Specialist for ACS Publications, a division of the American Chemical Society. She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, and has obtained both her Master’s and Doctorate in Food Science and Technology from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Juliana has served as a visiting scholar at the University of Messina in Italy, The Ohio State University in the USA, and the University of Seville in Spain. She has more than 10 publications in the area of sensory analysis and chemical study of food. Juliana has also been awarded the Fulbright scholarship and has participated in the ACS Summer School on Green Chemistry & Sustainable Energy 2023.
Omar Azzaroni, Ph.D.

Adjunct Professor of Physical Chemistry, Universidad Nacional de La Plata
Omar studied chemistry at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP) (Argentina), receiving his Ph.D. in 2004. His postdoctoral studies were carried out at the University of Cambridge (UK) (2004–2006, Marie Curie Research Fellow) and the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Germany) (2007, Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow). He was then appointed as Max Planck Partner Group leader from 2009 until 2013. He has served as Vice-Director of the Instituto de Investigaciones Fisicoquímicas Teóricas y Aplicadas (INIFTA) (2012–2015). He is currently a fellow member of CONICET and head of the Soft Matter Laboratory of INIFTA. Since 2009, he is also Adjunct Professor of Physical Chemistry at UNLP.
Regiane A. Bracchi, M.Sc.
Latin America Manager, ACS Publications
With a master’s degree in information science and extensive experience as a teaching professor focusing on the production, dissemination, use and application of scientific and technological information, Regiane A. Bracchi’s main role as the ACS Publications Latin America Manager is to support the scientific community in the region. This work centers on the development and implementation projects and partnerships associated to the access, use, and application of all ACS resources and solutions, as well as the promotion of opportunities and programs for the benefit of science in Latin America.
Karla Oyuky Juarez Moreno, Ph.D.

Professor and Research Leader, Centro de Física Aplicada y Tecnología Avanzada (CFATA-UNAM)
Karla Juarez-Moreno received her PhD in Biotechnology from CICESE, after completing a Biology degree at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). During her doctoral studies, she was supported by the DAAD, the German Agency, to conduct research at the Institute of Immunology in Hamburg, Germany. She later carried out postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, funded by the Fulbright García-Robles Scholarship, and continued with a second postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology (CNyN, UNAM). She is currently an Associated Researcher at the Center for Applied Physics and Advanced Technology (CFATA) at UNAM, in Juriquilla, Querétaro, Mexico. Her research focuses on Nanotoxicology, particularly the cellular and molecular responses to nanomaterials and the effects of commercial and incidental nanoparticles on different cell models. She is also interested in the biomedical applications of engineered metallic and metal oxide nanoparticles. She has co-authored over 60 scientific articles and is a Level 2 member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNII).
