At this half-day event, you’ll hear from ACS Editors on their tips for Scholarly Publishing & Communication Skills and the latest ACS Resources you can use to grow your career.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Universiti Sains Malaysia
Prof. Wahab is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her group particularly interested in applying the tools and technologies in computer aided drug design towards the discovery of novel chemotherapeutic against influenza and dengue as well as obesity and ageing-related disease. In addition, Her group use extensive molecular modelling technique to unravel the mechanisms of actions of drugs and their molecular targets.
Associate Prof. Dr. Hooi Ling Lee

Dr. Hooi Ling Lee is an Associate Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia’s School of Chemical Sciences. With a Ph.D. in Surface Science from Dublin City University, her research focuses on nanomaterials and nanotechnology. She has received numerous grants and has published extensively in ISI-indexed journals. Dr. Lee was a recipient of the 2021-2022 US Fulbright-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Programme and the 2018 Endeavour Research Fellowship. She is a founding member and former Chair of the ACS Malaysia Chapter, an Advisor for the USM ACS Student Chapter, a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, and a Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Prof. Himawan Tri Bayu Murti Petrus

Himawan Tri Bayu Murti Petrus is a lecture at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. After achieving his Bachelor’s degree at UGM in 2001, he pursued his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering UNESCO Membrane Centre, University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2006 and got his Doctoral degree in the Department of Earth Resources Engineering at Kyushu University, Japan in 2012. Prof. Bayu has published over 30 journal articles and 9 patents throughout his career. He is aiming to establish sustainable mineral processing in Indonesia. Prof. Bayu has had the opportunity to deepen his perspectives by obtaining several prestigious fellowships i.e. JICA research fellowship from Kyushu University (2015), an Endeavour Research Fellowship at the University of New South Wales (2018), and an ASEAN Science & Technology Fellowship by USAid in which he was responsible for implementing evidence-based policy at the Ministry of Higher Education (2019). Prof. Bayu has been inaugurated as one of the ASEAN science diplomats (2020). His work objective concerns valuable metals extraction from urban mines and other secondary resources. Prof. Bayu has research interests in Mineral Processing, Energy Conservation, Hydrometallurgy, and Environmental Protection. In the ACS On Campus at UGM, he will share his experiences dealing with international journal publishing, especially from an author’s perspective.
