Prof. Habibah A. Wahab

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Universiti Sains Malaysia
Prof. Wahab is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her group particularly interested in applying the tools and technologies in computer aided drug design towards the discovery of novel chemotherapeutic against influenza and dengue as well as obesity and ageing-related disease. In addition, Her group use extensive molecular modelling technique to unravel the mechanisms of actions of drugs and their molecular targets.

Associate Prof. Dr. Hooi Ling Lee

School of Chemical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia
Associate Professor Dr. Hooi Ling Lee is an academic staff at the School of Chemical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia since 2012. She graduated with a Ph.D. (Surface Science) degree, which was awarded by Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland under a full scholarship from the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) grant. Upon returning from Dublin, Ireland, Dr. Lee continued her research interest in nanomaterials and nanotechnology. She currently holds several active grants at the university, national and international levels. During her career, she was involved in several collaborations with researchers from abroad and has published several papers in ISI-indexed journals; some of them being journals with good impact factors and tier-one journals. In 2021, she was a recipient of the 2021-2022 US Fulbright-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Programme. Besides, she was one of the recipients of the 2018 Endeavour Research Fellowship. On a professional level, Dr. Lee is very involved as a founding member and was the first female Chair of the ACS Malaysia Chapter (2018-2020) as well as an Advisor for the USM ACS Student Chapter. In 2022, she was appointed as a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (IKM), being among the youngest fellows on board. In addition, she is also a member and Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). She believes interdisciplinary collaboration and effective science communication skills are essential attributes needed by current researchers.

Prof. Himawan Tri Bayu Murti Petrus
Department of Chemical Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta
Himawan Tri Bayu Murti Petrus is a lecture at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. After achieving his Bachelor’s degree at UGM in 2001, he pursued his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering UNESCO Membrane Centre, University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2006 and got his Doctoral degree in the Department of Earth Resources Engineering at Kyushu University, Japan in 2012. Prof. Bayu has published over 30 journal articles and 9 patents throughout his career. He is aiming to establish sustainable mineral processing in Indonesia. Prof. Bayu has had the opportunity to deepen his perspectives by obtaining several prestigious fellowships i.e. JICA research fellowship from Kyushu University (2015), an Endeavour Research Fellowship at the University of New South Wales (2018), and an ASEAN Science & Technology Fellowship by USAid in which he was responsible for implementing evidence-based policy at the Ministry of Higher Education (2019). Prof. Bayu has been inaugurated as one of the ASEAN science diplomats (2020). His work objective concerns valuable metals extraction from urban mines and other secondary resources. Prof. Bayu has research interests in Mineral Processing, Energy Conservation, Hydrometallurgy, and Environmental Protection. In the ACS On Campus at UGM, he will share his experiences dealing with international journal publishing, especially from an author’s perspective.
