At this half-day event, you’ll hear from ACS Editors on their tips for scholarly publishing, effective writing, creating your title, abstract and table of contents graphic and the latest ACS Resources you can use to grow your career.
The event is FREE and open to all students and researchers studying the sciences, not just chemistry! All attendees will receive a personalized participation certificate after the event.

Yanli Zhao, Ph.D.

Dr. Yanli Zhao currently holds the Lee Soo Ying Professorship in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He serves as the Associate Chair for Research and Graduate Education in the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU. He is also a Principal Scientist (Adjunct Appointment) at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. Prof. Zhao’s group conducts innovative research in an interdisciplinary area of chemistry, functional materials and biomedical engineering with an emphasis on the design and synthesis of novel integrated systems for targeted bioimaging and therapy as well as for green energy and sustainable catalysis. He has so far authored over 500 scientific papers with an H-index of 104. Prof. Zhao has been honored with several national and international awards and recognitions, such as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2022, Lee Soo Ying Professorship in 2021, Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics in 2018-2022, Singapore National Research Foundation Investigatorship in 2018, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces Young Investigator Award in 2017, Asian and Oceanian Photochemistry Association Prize for Young Scientists in 2016, TR35@Singapore Award in 2012, and Singapore National Research Foundation Fellowship in 2010. He serves as the Executive Editor of ACS Applied Nano Materials.
Lim Jit Kang, Ph.D.

JitKang Lim is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and has held a 10-year courtesy appointment as the Visiting Research Professor of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University since October 2011. He was recently appointed as the China-ASEAN Scholar of Tianjin University (TJU) and have received the World Class Professor Title by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia. As of the beginning of 2023, he serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Langmuir, a flagship journal of the American Chemical Society that specialized in interfacial sciences. His current research interests primarily focus on both colloidal behaviors and engineering application of magnetic nanoparticles.
Makoto Ogawa, Ph.D.

Makoto Ogawa was born in Shizuoka, Japan, in 1964. His doctorate was earned at Waseda University in 1992 under the direction of Professor Chuzo Kato. He moved to The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) as a special researcher for the basic science program, Science and Technology Agency, Japan. He moved to Department of Earth Sciences, Waseda University in 1995 where he became a full Professor in 2004. He was a researcher of PRESTO, Japan Science and Technology Corporation (JST) from 1995 to 2000 (cross appointment). In 2015, he moved to Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) as a professor of School of Energy Science and Engineering. His research interests include the syntheses and applications of nanomaterials. He has authored more than 300 original research papers and several tens of reviews and book chapters. The number of citation is over 14,000 times and his present h-index is 60 according to Google Scholar.
